Preparation starts by mixing sheep manure with suitable bulking materials. Their selection and quantity depend on the moisture and other composting conditions so that the mixture can be handled and aerated.
The mixture then enters composting, with turning used to improve mixing and aeration. Temperature, moisture and hygiene require attention, and maturity is assessed against the actual process.
Finishing may include crushing, granulation, drying and screening, depending on the product specification. Wastewater, exhaust air and solid residues also need to be considered in the plant arrangement.
